A while ago my husband and I had a very long conversation about whether we wanted to stay in this house or move to another one. We went back and forth, over and over, around and around. The final blow for me (as I was the one making the push to move off of the busy feeder street that we reside on) was his “threat”, if you will, of my going back to work if we moved. He claims that would only happen under the worst case scenario, but it was enough for me. So we began the process of doing all of the things we have wanted to do to the house since we moved in. We added a bathroom to the first floor in what was just a collection area for crap, we finished the attic and made it into our family room, and we are currently in the process of putting a porch on the back of the house. I like to do a lot of things and I think I have a certain knack for things, but home improvement is not my thing. So, we have hired it out and have been quite pleased with the results. I must admit that once the project is done I will miss these guys a little. It is kind of nice at 3 or 4 in the afternoon (you know, the witching hour when you are desperate for adult conversation) to just hop onto the back porch and chat with them for a few minutes.

So, other than the porch, what have I been up to? Not a ton, but here is the gist. I began a shirt (which I originally intended to be a dress, but was not paying enough attention) from Erin’s tutorial but am so disgusted with the two (two!!) places where I broke the thread that I keep moving it around the house with no progress toward finishing. I am ripping out these socks because all the love I have for them is simply gone. I will toss the yarn to the bottom of the stash and try again someday. I am making some wedding invitations for a friend who is to be married in the END of September (which is why I am not pursuing that avenue any longer – crazy ass brides!). I am exhausting myself mentally by making list upon list of things I need to pack for our upcoming trip to Michigan. I have decided that I am taking these socks and the Crystal sweater I am knitting from Elsbeth Lavold’s Sentimental Journey Collection, Book 2.

We’ll see…
