As a toddler
This is Ellen at 34 months (yes, nearly 3, sob!) wearing a dress I made for her to wear to a friend’s wedding when she was 6 months old.

As a baby

The pain that it gives me to view this picture of her is nearly indescribable. I have debated about whether or not to post about my secondary infertility since I quit blogging at blogger and once again when I started blogging here. We started “not trying” around Ellen’s first birthday. When we (meaning “I”…why do couples refer to themselves jointly even when it is clearly only one or the other??) stopped taking the pill, it took about 6 months to conceive her. Right about the time I was beginning to think, “huh. maybe we ought to try a little harder to track my cycle?” I was pregnant with her. Now I am waiting to get into the Reproductive Medicine Clinic at the same hospital where I delivered my naturally conceived baby. Oh, and I started my period today, day 31 of my normally 28 day cycle. I don’t want to dwell on this topic any more than this, because it brings me down. Which is why I craft. Which is why I love to get online and get inspired. Which is why I originally posted these pictures. Because sometimes you make something that really lasts and can give you joy despite the bittersweetness of it. The pattern is Simplicity 9911. I highly recommend it.
