Tomorrow officially begins the busy season for my husband. For whatever reason he is busiest in the springtime, a time when I would so rather him be home with us enjoying the longer, warmer days. Well, the theoretically warmer days. Today it is chilly and rainy and doing what the weather is supposed to be doing at the end of March in Minnesota. I used to love rainy days. What an eternally good excuse from Mother Nature to sit and read a book or knit or any other million things that are so nice when the pressure to soak up vitamin D isn’t so great. Now, well, now I have a toddler. I have been struggling with the decision of whether or not to send her to preschool this fall and it is on days like today that I imagine what moments to myself might be like while she is safely in a class learning to her heart’s content.

I am not looking forward to my upcoming single parenthood, and in preparation went to my favorite local toy store to purchase a few things for the stash. Should the weather continue, I will be ready…at least for one afternoon…
